On the eve of battle..

Hello! Welcome back. It’s been a while since I’ve updated this and it’s long overdue. So I’ll word vomit for a bit and update you all on everything.

I feel like it was just last week when we set out to do this whole “event” thing. It’s crazy to see that we’re just over a week away. It’s even crazier to see how many people are coming and joining in. When we first thought of the idea of a mini convention it was a joke. A laughing comment in passing while gaming at our old LGS. How things change.

All of us down at the HIVE SCUM HQ have been hard at work to ensure this thing goes off without too much of a hitch. Each of us have built custom boards for the event and are slowly chipping away. The time is running out but we work great under pressure.

Heres some photos of what we’ve got!

Steve – This is a combination of my board that won Best Board ( I swear I didn’t rig it, was peoples choice! ) from last NEMO, with a new board I started working on almost 2 months ago. I built the new one to line up directly with the old board. I got really nervous about colors blending together and it looking seamless so I went back and primed my old board when I primed the new one. Maybe a bit excessive, but I need the immersion!

Phil – Phils Lustria board has been a slow but steady progress. Using lots of natural wood and some 3d prints , its truly setting the scene for ancient jungles with their lizard denizens.

Gage – What started as an inspired by the Swiss Alps, has turned into the MAW OF GORK/MORK. The maw contains a cave that wraps around the underside of the mountain and exits via a small cove in the middle of the board. Everyone should go yell at gage when they read this to go work on his board some more until he finishes it. Oh, it also weighs *A LOT* thanks to using 28lbs of DURHAMS.

Terry – Despite being incredibly busy, far more than the rest of us, Terry managed to get this insane 4×2 board together. Using just random junk found around the studio + some half built houses I had sitting in a box forever that were literally being thrown in the trash.

Besides all this Paul has been hammering away on a literal mountain of terrain from Pendraken. Honestly, some of the best MDF kits on the market. We also spent a full day slamminng out scatter terrain we made, as well as a giant box of FDM printed scatter from our buddy Brad over at Craft Fair Games. Brad graciously donated us a big box of crates, barrels and walls after seeing how frantic we were about filling all the boards.

So again, sorry about the radio silence! You can see more up to date discussions, rules questions, photo updates in the New England Mordheim discord, In Rust We Trust discord, or hear about it over on the Hive Scum podcast!

Goodbye for now!

– Steve
